Whether serving in a CFP Coordinator, host family, board member or temporary role, CFP’s volunteers bring certain qualities that are essential to its longevity and success.
COMMITMENT: For decades, the work of CFP has been made possible through volunteers in the United States and abroad who demonstrate a commitment to our youth first and ourselves second. With an understanding of the long term impact of CFP’s model of one-on-one relationships and operating from a shared purpose and work ethic, CFP volunteers find meaning in working together, no matter what country or region they represent.
PROFESSIONALISM: CFP’s volunteers bring life and career experiences to our organization, allowing CFP to continually improve its capabilities and efficiencies in this rapidly changing world.
ADAPTABILITY: As a volunteer-led organization, CFP is proud to be able to ‘meet the moment’ by adapting to changing circumstances. Whether we address a family crisis of one of our teens or, as we’ve seen this year, a conflict region devolving into a war zone, CFP culture allows volunteers to work flexibly and innovatively without compromising safety.
We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our volunteers for their commitment to our vision, philosophy and theory of change. Many provide their professional skills on a part-time basis throughout the year. Our Steering Committee members provide sustained year-round leadership with the Executive Director accepting a full-time role for a minimum two-year term. Leveraging unlikely friendships between teens from opposite sides of their conflict requires sustained dedication by many CFP volunteers and makes all our programs possible, building the bridge to a more peaceful world.
